Titouan Bernicot

CEO of Coral Gardeners

Titouan Bernicot is the founder and CEO of Coral Gardeners, a groundbreaking organization restoring coral reefs by blending cutting-edge science with a unique community-driven approach.

Titouan was born on a small island in French Polynesia, lost in the middle of the Pacific Ocean, where his parents owned a pearl farm. At the age of 16, Titouan noticed the alarming degradation of his home reef, where he grew up surfing, on the island of Mo’orea, and decided to act. By 18, he created Coral Gardeners with only a few friends and volunteers and brought the organization to a team of over 70 members, from gardeners to scientists and engineers, working around the world with high-impact sites across French Polynesia, Fiji, Thailand, and soon more locations.

With an online community of nearly one million supporters, legendary partners like Rolex and National Geographic and ambassadors such as Jason Momoa and Cristina Mittermeier, Coral Gardeners has sparked a global movement for coral conservation.
As a CEO, Titouan leads with urgency, clarity, and creative ambition. He is not only pioneering a new model for ocean conservation, but also shaping a new archetype for climate leadership—one that’s youthful, media-savvy, and driven by tangible metrics, big partnerships, and global impact.

I’m thrilled to join the NAT initiative to help drive awareness and funding for nature-based solutions. This aligns perfectly with Coral Gardeners’ mission to revolutionize ocean conservation by uniting creative forces and the influence of sectors like science, business, fashion, and culture to make a real impact for our blue planet.
